1Introduction

Salama!

This phrasebook translates from English (British) to Malagasy (Antanosy). With everything from first phrases to intermediate grammar, it will help you get to grips with the language spoken in Anosy Region, Southeast Madagascar.

Words in Malagasy are often spelled a little differently depending on who you ask. As such, this dictionary may contain spelling mistakes or inconsistencies, but if you spot something wrong please let us know!

Words may also have multiple meanings just as in other languages. For example, manasa translates to the verbs 'to invite' and 'to wash', as well as the noun 'pineapple'...there's a joke in there somewhere..
